220711 Closed Session Economic Development Closed Session Î Ramseur Ï July 11, 2022 The Board was already convened in closed session pursuant to NCGS 143-318.11(a)(4) to discuss matters relating to the location or expansion of industries or other businesses in the area served by the public body, including agreement on a tentative list of economic development incentives that may be offered by the public body in negotiations. Chairman Darrell Frye, Vice- Chairman David Allen, Commissioner Kenny Kidd, Commissioner Maxton McDowell, and Commissioner Hope Haywood were present. Also present from the County were County Manager Hal Johnson, Assistant County Manager/Finance Officer Will Massie, County Attorney Ben Morgan, Associate County Attorney Aimee Scotton, Deputy Clerk Sarah Pack, and Clerk to the Board Dana Crisco. Present from Randolph County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) were President Kevin Franklin and Business Recruitment Director Crystal Gettys. Ms. Gettys said that a company is currently looking at property in the Ramseur, Staley, and Liberty areas. It would bring 113 employees and possibly add 77 more. They have found a potential site in Ramseur, but it is not served by water and sewer. If chosen, this could be a $4-5 million investment to Randolph County.
