Closed Session Î Water Ï July 11, 2022
At 7:40 p.m., the Board convened in closed session pursuant to NCGS 143-318.11(a)(4) to
discuss matters relating to the location or expansion of industries or other businesses in the area
served by the public body, including agreement on a tentative list of economic development
incentives that may be offered by the public body in negotiations. Chairman Darrell Frye, Vice-
Chairman David Allen, Commissioner Kenny Kidd, Commissioner Maxton McDowell, and
Commissioner Hope Haywood were present. Also present from the County were County Manager
Hal Johnson, Assistant County Manager/Finance Officer Will Massie, County Attorney Ben
Morgan, Associate County Attorney Aimee Scotton, Deputy Clerk Sarah Pack, and Clerk to the
Board Dana Crisco. Present from Randolph County Economic Development Corporation (EDC)
were President Kevin Franklin and Business Recruitment Director Crystal Gettys.
Mr. Franklin said the City of Asheboro has been approached to send water to Siler City. There
has been discussion about having the lines go through Franklinville and Ramseur. The State
allocated $55 million to the City of Asheboro in their recent budget.
Discussion on this topic ended to address another economic development project in Closed
Session.
