220801 Closed Session Economic Development Closed Session Î I-74 Industrial Center Ï August 1, 2022 At 8:06 p.m., the Board convened in closed session pursuant to NCGS 143-318.11(a)(4) to discuss matters relating to the location or expansion of industries or other businesses in the area served by the public body, including agreement on a tentative list of economic development incentives that may be offered by the public body in negotiations. Chairman Darrell Frye, Vice- Chairman David Allen, Commissioner Kenny Kidd, Commissioner Maxton McDowell, and Commissioner Hope Haywood were present. Also present from the County were County Manager Hal Johnson, Assistant County Manager/Finance Officer Will Massie, County Attorney Ben Morgan, Associate County Attorney Aimee Scotton, Deputy Clerk Sarah Pack, and Clerk to the Board Dana Crisco. Present from Randolph County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) were President Kevin Franklin and Business Recruitment Director Crystal Gettys. th Ms. Gettys said that she would like to schedule a Public Hearing on September 6for an I-74 Industrial Center. At that time, the Board would consider purchasing two lots on Wall Brothers Rd. to help create this. NC Department of Transportation has agreed to partner with the County to realign the road there. There are grants available that could offset some of the cost of extending sewer to the site.
