The Randolph County Board of Commissioners met in special session at
7:00 p.m. on May 23, 1988 in the Public Library Meeting Room, 201 Worth
Street, Asheboro, NC. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss property
acquisition._ Commissioners Frye, Langley, Petty, Davidson and Corner were
present.
County Attorney Ed Gavin explained to the Board how a metropolitan
water district works.
Chairman Frye announced that Randolph County is eligible for more long-
term care beds --68 nursing and 20 aged. Mr. Frye said he had received a
letter from Richard Bennett & Associates, who has applied for a certificate
of need for all these beds. Mr. Bennett would like to construct and operate
a facility housing all 88 beds.
On motion of Petty, seconded by Comer, the Board voted to go into
executive session for the purpose of discussing property acquisition and
a possible industrial client.
The Board came back into regular session at 11:15 p.m. and adjourned.
