100489RANDOLPH COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MINUTES Noon October 4, 1989 The Randolph County Board of Commissioners met in special session at Noon on October 4, 1989 in Courtroom B, County Courthouse, Asheboro, NC, to appoint a new sheriff. Commissioners Frye, Davidson and Comer were present. Commissioners Langley and Petty were absent. Charles Brown, Chairman of the Randolph County Republican Party, informed the Board that the Republican Party Executive -Committee had met the night before and adopted a resolution to appoint Litchard Hurley to serve out the term of the late Sheriff Robert Mason. On motion of Davidson, seconded by Comer, the Board accepted the resolution and appointed Litchard Hurley to serve as sheriff for the remainder of the late Robert Mason's term. On motion of Comer, seconded by Davidson, the Board set Sheriff Hurley's salary at $36,300 (Grade 78, Step 3). On motion of Davidson, seconded by Comer, the Board adjourned.
