c050415 CS and JDRCClosed Session I (Purchase of Property for Child Support and JDRC) May 4, 2015 At 7:55 p.m., the Board convened closed session in order to instruct the public body's staff or negotiating agents concerning the position to be taken by or on behalf of the public body in negotiating the price and other material terms of a contract or proposed contract for the acquisition of real property by purchase, option, exchange, or lease, pursuant to [N.C.G.S.143-318.11(a)(5)(i)]. Commissioners Frye, Kemp, Lanier, Haywood and Allen were present. Also present were County Manager Hal Johnson; Assistant County Manager/Finance Officer Will Massie; County Attorney Ben Morgan; Associate County Attorney Aimee Scotton; Clerk to the Board Amanda Varner; and Public Works Director Paxton Arthurs. County Manager Hal Johnson stated that the Tax Department had prepared a comparable building sales analysis as of 2015 and noted that the final value estimate of $570,000 was supported by the sales data. He stated that the property owner had agreed to a purchase price of $570,000. Public Works Director Paxton Arthurs stated the building is in good shape and the interior changes can be easily made to accommodate the departments. At 8:01 p.m., closed session ended on this topic.
