NORTH CAROLINA 27203 919-629-2131 1.1 1779 RANDOLPH COUNTY PLANNING BOARD MINUTES February 20 , 1980 The Randolph County Planning Board met on Wednesday, February 20 , 1980 , at 1 : 00 p .m. in the Board of Collauissioners Meeting Room, County Courthouse , Asheboro , North Carolina. The following members were present : Don Hancock, Chairman Ray Farlow, Vice-Chairman Elmer Routh Andrew Lueker Doyle Stout Jimmy Newton Hal Johnson, Administrative Officer 1. Chairman Don Hancock called the meeting to order . Andrew Lueker made the motion, seconded by Elmer Routh, to approve the minutes of the January 17 , 1980 meeting of the Planning Board. `This motion was unanimously approved. 2. Elmer Routh made the motion , seconded by Andrew Lueker , to approve the Preliminary Subdivision Plat for Frank Snider ; STONEYBROOK SUBDIVISION extension, Cedar Grove Township , proposed Walnut Drive consisting of 30 lots . This motion was unanimously approved. 3. Bill McDaniel , Chief Building Inspector , and Jack Workman, Assistant Supervising Sanatarian for the Health Department , were present at the meeting . Jack Workman gave a brief presentation to the Planning Board explaining some of the functions of the Environmental Health Section as pertains to septic tanks and subdivision review. After Mr. Workman ' s presentation, there was a general question and answer session pertaining to County Planning Board functions and ideas . Doyle Stout asked if the Planning Board might look into the possibility of developing a plan to limit and control junk yards which were developing around the county. Jimmy Newton said that junk yards were a real problem in Trinity Township , and agreed that the Planning Board might wish to study the problem further . Don Hancock asked Hal Johnson if he would arrange for a representative from either the Piedmont Triad Council of Governments or the Institute of Government to be present at the next Planning Board meeting to assist the Board in developing February 20 , 1980 N Page 2 plans . These ideas could then be presented to the Board of Commissioners for review. 4.
