09SeptemberPB RANDOLPH COUNTY PLANNING BOARD MINUTES September 22, 1982 `� The Randolph County Planning Board met on Wednesday, September 22, 1982 at 1:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Department of Public Health Building, McDowell Governmental Center, Asheboro, North Carolina. The following members were present: Don Hancock, Chairman ABSENT Ray Farlow Andy Lueker Doyle Stout Jim Newton Joyce Davis Terry Coble Charles Adams (Alternate) 1. Hal Johnson advised the Board that the Minutes of the August 25, 1982 meeting indicated that Jim Newton seconded the motion to approve the minutes of the July 14, 1982 Planning Board meeting, and this was in error. The minutes should be corrected to indicate that Andy Lueker made the motion to approve the minutes of the July 14 meeting, the motion was seconded by a member not indicated, and then approved unanimously by the Planning Board. Jim Newton made the motion that the minutes of the August 25, 1982 meeting be approved with the correction; Joyce Davis seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously. 2. The Planning Board reviewed the following request for Conditional Use Re-Zoning: A. Larry R. Hill, Route 3, Trinity, North Carolina requested that approximately 1 acre located at the intersection of Highway 62 and Hopewell Church Road (State Road 1558) ; Zoning Map 1-1; Trinity Township; be re-zoned to Conditional Use Highway Commercial Zoning classification to allow the establishment of a General Repair Shop. Mr. Hill and his wife attended the meeting, and advised the Board that the property was located next to their home. They felt the Highway 62 intersection, because of its ' - close location to the new I-85 interchange, would develop commercially in the future. Mr. Hill advised the Board that he would not allow the Repair Shop to be used for junk storage and that he would keep it compatible to the area around it. No persons attended the meeting opposed to the re-zoning request. After discussion Jim Newton made the motion, seconded by Joyce Davis, to recommend to the Commissioners that they approve the request for Conditional Use Highway Commercial Zoning to allow the establishment of a general repair shop. This motion was approved unanimously by the Board. 3. Andy Lueker made the motion, seconded by Ray Farlow to adjourn the meeting and the motion was approved.
