02FebruaryPB RANDOLPH COUNTY PLANNING; BOARD Minutes February 8, 1984 There was a meeting of the County Planning Board on Wednesday, February 8, 1984 at 1:30 p.m. in the Conference Room B, Randolph County Courthouse, 145 Worth Street, Asheboro, North Carolina. The following members were present: Don Hancock, Chairman Doyle Stout, Vice-Chairman Ray Farlow Tal Harrison Terry Coble Henry Darr Charles Adams 1. Doyle Stout made the motion, seconded by Tal Harrison to approve the minutes from the October Planning Board Meeting. This motion passed. 2. Newly appointed Board member Charles Adams was recognized by the Board. Mr. Adams had previously served as an Alternate Board member and will now be serving a three year term. Board member Terry Coble was also recognized as having been re-appointed by the Commissioners for a three year term. 3. Doyle Stout made the motion, seconded by Henry Darr to elect Don Hancock to serve . as Planning Board Chairman. This motion passed unanimously. Terry Coble made the motion, seconded by Ray Farlow to elect Doyle Stout to serve as Vice-Chairman for 1984. The motion passed unanimously. 4. PRELIMINARY SUBDIVISION PLAT APPROVAL: A. Ray Farlow made the motion, seconded by Terry Coble to anprove the preliminary plat of Woodbury Subdivision, State Road #1558; Trinity Township; 38 lots with public road; Billy Walker, Developer. The motion was approved. B. Henry Darr made the motion, seconded by Doyle Stout, to approve sections 2 and 3 for Final Plat of Mel-Bil Heights Subdivision; New Market Townshin; Bill Beard, Developer. Mr. Beard attended the meeting and nresented the Board with a signed contract to pave the public roads when weather conditions improve. The motion to approve the final plat was made based on the roads being paved to state public road standards. The motion was approved. 5. Mrs. Lois L. Stradley, Route 5, High Point, North Carolina, requested a Light Industrial Conditional Use Re-Zoning on approximately 1 acre located on Turnpike Road, State Road #1558; Zoning Map 1-2; Trinity Township. The property is currently zoned Residential Suburban. Mrs. Stradley seeks a Special Use Re-zoning to allow a 30. x 30 addition to an existing building currently being used for furniture frame manufacturing and located behind her residence. The building is currently classified as a Non-Conforming Use under County Zoning regulations. After review and discussion Tal Harrison made the motion, seconded by Doyle Stout to recommend a Conditional Use Zoning that would allow the construction of a 30 x 30 addition to be used for storage only. This motion passed. 6. Henry Darr, Board member, announced that he would be resigning from the Planning Board effective this -meeting. Mr. Darr was recently elected Mayor of Archdale and the many demands upon his time would not enable him to devote his full time to Planning Board activities. 7.
