05MayPB MINUTES RANDOLPH COUNTY PLANNING BOARD May 22, 1985 There was a meeting of the Randolph County Planning Board on Wednesday, May 22, 1985 at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom B, County Courthouse, Asheboro, North Carolina. The following members were present: Don Hancock, Chairman ABSENT Doyle Stout, Vice-Chairman Ray Farlow Terry Coble Tal Harrison Charles Adams Bud Osborne 1. Ray Farlow made the motion, seconded by Tal Harrison, to approve the minutes of the March 6 meeting. This motion passed unanimously. 2. The Board considered the following request for a Special Use Permit: 1. James H. Dowdy, High Point, North Carolina, was requesting a Special Use Permit to develop a Mobile Home Park on approximately 80 acres of land located on Uwharrie Road, State Road #1612; Trinity Township; Zoning Map 1-1. The property is currently zoned Residential and a Special Use Permit required from the Planning Board for development of a Mobile Home Park. The Board delayed action on the request until the June 5 meeting due to the absence of Mr. Dowdy at the meeting. 3. REQUEST FOR RE-ZONING Barry Lawrence, Thomasville, North Carolina, and represented by Harvey Wilborne, Thomasville, North Carolina, requested that approximately 5 acres of land located `� on Wright Road, State Road #1554, Trinity Township; be re-zoned from Residential to Conditional Use Light Industrial to allow the construction of a Plastic Packaging Plant that would employ about 8-10 persons. No individuals attended the meeting opposed to the request. After discussion, Bud Osborne made the motion, seconded by Doyle Stout, to recommend approval of the request. This motion passed unanimously. Recommendations from the Planning Board will be forwarded to the County Commissioners at the June 3 meeting. 4. Hal Johnson advised the Board that he would be requesting funds from the Commissioners to allow the county to update it's Land Use Plan and maps in the northern half of Randolph County. The current County Land Use Plan was developed almost 10 years ago and has to some degree become outdated. The Land Use Plan forms the foundation on which planning & development plans are based. Bud Osborne made the motion, seconded by Tal Harrison that the Board recommend that the County Land Use Plan be updated for the northern half of Randolph County. This motion passed. 5.
