RANDOLPH COUNTY PLANNING BOARD
June 5, 1985
There was a meeting of the County Planning Board on Wednesday, June 5, 1985
at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom D, County Courthouse, Asheboro, North Carolina. The
following persons were present:
Don Hancock, Chairman ABSENT
Doyle Stout, Vice-Chairman
Tal Harrison Ray Farlow
Charles Adams
Terry Coble
Bud Osborne
1. Doyle Stout made the motion, seconded by Terry Coble, to approve the minutes
of the May 22 meeting. This motion passed.
2. SPECIAL USE PERMIT REQUEST
A. Cellular One of the Triad, Greensboro, North Carolina, requested a Special
Use Permit for the location of a cellular telephone equipment area to serve
the Asheboro vacinity in providing both mobile and portable telephone service.
The space to be used is located on Stack Rock Mountain containing an area
of approximately 50 x 50 feet. There will be an equipment building of
approximately 12 x 20 feet and a tower of 187 feet. These facilities will
be enclosed by a fence. The property owner is Boyd Hayes, Asheboro, North
Carolina. Ed Broughton, representing Cellular One was present and stated
that the tower would use a frequency that would not interfere with T. V.
or other radio transmissions. The property is located in Zoo Zoning District
E-2 in Grant Township.
After review and discussion, Doyle Stout made the motion, seconded by
Charles Adams to approve the request for a Special Use Permit. This

3. Being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
