11NovemberPB • c... v. aft,,;• • ' MINUTES -' � I Randolph County Planning Board �� .1/i'7_1_,> November 21, 1986 There was a meeting of the County Planning Board on Thursday, November 20, 1986 at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom B, County Courthouse, Asheboro, North Carolina. The following members were present: Don Hancock, Chairman ABSENT Doyle Stout, Vice-Chairman Ray Farlow Tal Harrison Bud Osborne Terry Coble Charles Adams Guy Troy (Alternate) 1. Guy Troy made the motion, seconded by Tal Harrison to approve the minutes of the October 8 meeting. This motion passed. 2. SPECIAL USE PERMIT: Mobile Home Park A: NAME: Brookwood Acres Mobile Home Park OWNER: B. J. Lawrence; LOCATION: Rockett Road (SR #1937) ; TOWNSHIP: Level Cross; NUMBER OF LOTS: 14; Community Water System. The request was delayed until the December 17 Meeting in order to allow each adjoining property owner to be notified by mail 15 days prior to the December meeting. 3. ZONING ORDINANCE UPDATE: Ginger Booker, Staff Attorney, PTCOG, was present at the meeting and continued to review with the Planning Board the revisions to the County `� Zoning Ordinance. Among the items discussed by the Planning Board was the requirement to establish a 1000 foot radius between billboards located in Commercial/Industrial areas. Also the Board felt there should be controls as to the size of billboards on major highways. The definition of a Planned Business Development was discussed as it pertains to a 3 acre minimum. The Planning Board felt that Planned Business Developments located in the EI District next to the Zoo should be clearly defined and regulated. Ms. Booker advised the Planning Board that she would have a final draft of the revised Zoning Ordinance ready by the December meeting. It was suggested that the Planning Board and the Board of Commissioners conduct a joint meeting to review the ordinance in January, 1987. 4. UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE: Hal Johnson; Planning Director, reviewed with the Board the possibility of combining all of the county's Land Development Ordinances into one central document. The Board agreed that this would help make the county's land use ordinances more consistant. The PTCOG will provide the technical assistance in preparing this document after completion of the Zoning Ordinance rewrite. 5. Being no further business the meeting adjourned at 2:45.
