04AprilPB �+ft MINUTES RANDOLPH COUNTY PLANNING BOARD --t2,„. 7- .:_; April 8, 1987 There was a meeting of the County Planning Board on Wednesday, April 8, 1987 at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom B, County Courthouse, Asheboro, North Carolina. The following members were present: Don Hancock, Chairman ABSENT Doyle Stout, Vice-Chairman Charles Adams Tal Harrison Guy Troy Ray Farlow Bud Osborne 1. Charles Adams made the motion, seconded by Doyle Stout to approve the minutes of the March 6 meeting. This motion passed. 2. SUBDIVISION: FINAL PLAT A: Laurelwood Club Estates; Asheboro Township; Section 4; 20 Lots; Laurelwood Club Estates, Owner. Ricky Cox, Attorney, representing Laurelwood, advised the Board that the Section 4, Maps 1 & 2, exceeded all of Randolph County's subdivision requirements. The roads had been approved by the state D.O.T. Engineer, and would be paved in 20 days. Wes Moser, Attorney, representing some adjoining property owners, expressed his concern that adjoining property was not allowed to connect to the proposed road extensions. It was discussed that the City of Asheboro was extending it's zoning jurisdiction into this area and future expansions of the subdivision would have to meet Asheboro zoning require- ments. Ricky Cox advised the Board that future development as shown as Viewmont Drive would be constructed so as to provide access to the adjoining Redding property. After discussion, Guy Troy made the motion, seconded by Doyle Stout to approve the Final Plat. This motion passed. 3. RE-ZONING REQUEST A: C. Richard Bruning, Pleasant Garden, N. C. , is requesting that approximately 10 acres located on the southwest corner of I-85 and Finch Farm Road, (SR #1547) Trinity Township; Zoning Map 1-2; be re-zoned from R-A to Highway Commercial Conditional Use. It is the desire of the applicant to locate a self-service gasoline station and convenience store. After review and discussion, Charles Adams made the motion, seconded by Bud Osborne to recommend approval. This motion passed and will be forwarded to the Commissioners May 4 meeting. 4.
