RANDOLPH COUNTY ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
=wL2 + November 9, 1993
1 . Vice Chairman Aweilda Williams called to Order the
Randolph County Zoning Board of Adjustment at 7 : 00 p.m.
2 . Roll call of Members: Phil Brower, Chairman, absent;
Aweilda Williams , Vice Chairman, present; Jim Routh,
present; Lynden Craven, present; Charles Adams ,
present; Bill Dorsett, absent; Doyle Stout, absent; Tim
Poole, Alternate (substituting for regular member Phil
Brower) ; and Maxton McDowell , Alternate (substituting
for regular member Bill Dorsett) .
3 . Charles Adams made the motion, seconded by Lynden
Craven, to approve the Minutes of the Randolph County
Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting on October 5 , 1993 .
The motion passed.
4 . Swearing in of the Witnesses:
"Do you swear or affirm that the information you are
about to give is the truth, the whole truth, and
nothing but the truth, so help you God. "
5 . VARIANCE:
WRIGHT OF THOMASVILLE, INC. , Thomasville, North
Carolina, is requesting a Variance to allow a front
setback of 35 ft. from the Right-of-Way in lieu of the
required 50 ft. for expansion of an existing industrial
building, located at 5196 Prospect Street Ext. , Trinity
Township, Zoning Map #6798, Zoning District LI .
**Arguments of Granting Request
The representatives explained that the building was
constructed prior to any zoning and at that time the
setback requirements were 35 ' from the right-of-way.
It is the desire of this corporation to make the
addition conform with the existing structure.
**Arguments Against Granting Request
There was no one present in opposition to this request.
**Board Discussion: Conclusions based of Findings of
Fact
The Board found that a hardship was not a result of the

The Board found that this variance would not violate
the intent of the County Ordinance.
The Board found that the use will not substantially
injure the value of adjoining or abutting property.
**Order of the Board of Adjustment
Maxton McDowell made the motion, seconded by Jim Routh,
to approve the request for a Variance based on the
Board' s Findings of Fact. The motion passed.
6 . The meeting adjourned at 7 : 10 p.m.
