Jeffrey Grevenstuk to the oath.
5. VARIANCE:
JEFFREY GREVENSTUK, Ramseur, North Carolina, is
requesting a Variance of lot size of 2 acres in lieu of
the required 5 acres on an existing private road.
Location: 479 Chathamview Road, Columbia Township,
Zoning Map #8732 , Zoning District RA.
**Arguments for Granting the Request
Grevenstuk told the Board that it was their intention
to allow his wife ' s parents 2 acres to locate a house
or double wide on. Grevenstuk said that his in-laws
are aging and currently live in Indiana; if this
variance were to be approved they would move to North
Carolina. Grevenstuk said that the mortgage on his
house included the entire property. Grevenstuk said
that the 2 acres would be located close to their house
and it was his concern that the bank would not allow a
division of 5 acres due to the mortgage and the close
proximity to the house.
Grevenstuk present a petition of signatures from all
`--- the people currently on property on the road. This
petition showed his neighbors had no opposition to the
request.
**Arguments Against Granting the Request
There was no one present in opposition.
**Board Discussion: Conclusions Based on Findings of
Fact
Lynden Craven commended the Grevenstuk' s for wanting to
care for their parents in their aging years.
**Order of the Board of Adjustment
Lynden Craven made the motion to approve this request
for a Variance. Craven noted that the driveway should
be improved (Grevenstuk agreed) . Charles Adams
seconded this motion and the motion passed unanimously.
6 . The meeting adjourned.
