RANDOLPH COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
September 8, 1992
MINUTES
There was a meeting of the Randolph County Board of
Adjustment on Tuesday, September 8, 1992 at 7 : 00 pm, County
Commissioners' Meeting Room, Randolph County Office
Building, Asheboro, NC. The following members were present:
Bill Dorsett, Chairman Charles Adams
Phil Brower, Vice Chairman Arlie Culp
Jimmy Routh Aweilda Williams
Lynden Craven Maxton McDowell
Absent: Doyle Stout
1 . Chairman Dorsett asked that those desiring to give
testimony to the Board stand and be administered the
required Oath as mandated by North Carolina General
Statutes
2. Hal Johnson, Planning Director, reviewed the following
request for Variance from county subdivision
regulations:
A: EUGENE HOLDAWAY, Asheboro, North Carolina, is
requesting a Variance to allow two 3 acre tracts
(subdivided from a 6 acre tract) on a private driver in
lieu of the required 5 acre tract size requirement.
Location: off SR 2839 (Staley Farm Rd) on Indian Paint
Drive; Indian Wells Subdivision Section 2 lot 21; Grant
Township; Zoning Map #7669; Zoning District RA.
Mr. Holdaway was present and advised the Board that he
and another property owner has jointly purchased the
tract over 7 years ago. At this time, they had been
told by the developer that they could eventually
resubdivide the tract to reflect ownership. They were
asking to divide their land to legally reflect an
existing situation in place for over 7 years. No
persons were present in opposition to the request. Hal
Johnson told Mr Holdaway that the responsibility for
road maintenance would still be that of the property
owners.
