s060908 special joint City of AsheboroJune 9, 2008 -Special Joint Meeting with Asheboro City Council The Randolph County Board of Commissioners met in a special joint meeting with the Asheboro City Council in the Training Room of the County Office Building, 725 McDowell Road. Commissioners Holmes, Frye, Haywood, Kemp and Lanier were present, as well as Will Massie, Finance Officer; Aimee Scotton, Associate County Attorney; Cheryl Ivey, Clerk to the Board; and Amanda Varner, Deputy Clerk to the Board. Asheboro City Council members Talmadge Baker, Eddie Burks, Linda Carter, Keith Crisco, Walker Moffitt, Archie "Mack" Priest, Mayor David Jarrell and Mayor Pro Tem - David Smith were present, as well as John Ogburn, City Manager; Jeff Sugg, City Attorney and Holly Doerr, City Clerk. EDC was represented by Bonnie Renfro and Harry Lane. Call to Order — Call for Closed Session Chairman Holmes called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone. Mayor Jarrell called the meeting to order for the City and called for a motion to go into closed session. Chairman Holmes called for the motion to go into closed session on behalf of the County. Closed Session At 4:32 p.m., on motion of Frye, seconded by Kemp, the Board voted unanimously to go into closed session to consider the matters relating to the location or expansion of industries or other businesses in the area served by the public body, N. C. G. S. 143-318.11(a) (4). Regular Session Resumed At 4:59 p.m., the Board returned to regular session. Adiournment At 5:00 p.m., there being no further business, the meeting adjourned. J.
