062788BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MINLPIES JUNE 27, 1988 The Randolph County Board of Commissioners met in special session at 7:00 p.m. on June 27, 1988 in Courtroom B, Courthouse, Asheboro, NC. Commissioners Frye, Langley, and Davidson were present. Commissioners Petty and Comer were absent. The purpose of the meeting was to conduct a public hearing on the annexation of Poplar Hollow Farms Subdivision into the Julian Fire District. Director Emergency Services/Neil Allen reported that he had received a petition signed by 68% of the property owners in the area requested to be annexed. This petition was certified by the Tax Department. Mr. Allen presented an affidavit of publication showing the public hearing was duly advertised on June 10 and June 17, as required by law. He stated that notices of the public hearing were posted in three prominent places in the affected area. Chairman Frye declared the public hearing to be in session and asked if anyone present wished to speak in favor of or in opposition to the proposed annexation. No one asked to speak. Chairman Frye declared the public hearing to be closed. On motion of Langley, seconded by Davidson, the Board approved a resolution annexing Poplar Hollow Farms Subdivision into the Julian Fire District. A copy of the resolution is included by reference. On motion of Davidson, seconded by Langley, the Board adjourned.
