MINUTES
June 5, 1990
The Randolph County Board of Commissioners met in special session at 7:00
p.m. on June 5, 1990,.in the Administration Conference Room, Randolph County
Office Building, 707 McDowell Road, Asheboro, NC. The purpose of the meeting was
to hear a budget presentation from the Public Works Department. Commissioners
Frye, Langley, Davidson and Comer were present. Commissioner Petty was absent.
George McArthur, Public Works Director, reviewed his requested 1990-91
budget and discussed implications of Senate Bill 111, which addresses state
regulations for counties regarding solid waste management. Mr. McArthur also
discussed recycling, a new landfill, a solid waste ordinance, education for the
public, tipping fees at the landfill, and the dumpster program.
On motion of Davidson, seconded by Langley, the Board adjourned.
