June 4, 1991 Minutes
The Randolph County Board of Commissioners met in special session at
6:30 p.m. on June 4, 1991, in the Administration Conference Room,
Randolph County Office Building, 707 McDowell Road, Asheboro. The
purpose of the meeting was to hear budget requests. Commissioners Frye,
Davidson, Langley, Comer and Petty were present.
Public Works
George McArthur presented his proposed budget and discussed scrap
tire fees, vehicle for proposed waste controller position, possible
purchase of additional acreage at the landfill, drop-off sites, pilot
curbside program, and equipment needs for the recycling center.
Social Services
Marion Smith presented his proposed budget and explained the process
Social Services staff go through to come up with budget figures. He
noted that AFDC had gone up 40% this year, that Medicaid was up in all
programs, and that special assistance to adults was growing.

On motion of Davidson, seconded by Langley, the Board adjourned.
