s050409 special joint City of AsheboroMay 4, 2009 -Special Joint Meeting with Asheboro City Council The Randolph County Board of Commissioners met in a special joint meeting with the Asheboro City Council in the Training Room of the County Office Building, 725 McDowell Road. Commissioners Holmes, Frye, Haywood, and Lanier were present. Commissioner Kemp was absent. Also present were Richard Wells, County Manager; Will Massie, Finance Officer; Aimee Scotton, Associate County Attorney; Cheryl Ivey, Clerk to the Board; and Amanda Varner, Deputy Clerk to the Board. Asheboro City Council members Talmadge Baker, Eddie Burks, Linda Carter, Dr. Stuart Fountain, Walker Moffitt, Archie "Mack" Priest, Mayor David Jarrell and Mayor Pro Tem - David Smith were present, as well as John Ogburn, City Manager; Jeff Sugg, City Attorney; Debbie Juberg, Finance Officer and Holly Doerr, City Clerk. EDC was represented by Bonnie Renfro and Harry Lane. Call to Order — Call for Closed Session Chairman Holmes called the meeting to order for the county and welcomed everyone. Mayor Jarrell called the meeting to order for the City and called for a motion to go into closed session. Chairman Holmes called for the motion to go into closed session on behalf of the County. Closed Session At 3: 00 p.m., on motion of Frye, seconded by Haywood, the Board voted unanimously to go into closed session to consider the matters relating to the location or expansion of industries or other businesses in the area served by the public body, N. C. G. S. 143-318.11(a) (4). Regular Session Resumed At 4:42 p.m., the Boards returned to regular session. Adjournment At 4:43 p.m., there being no further business, the meeting adjourned. J.
