C090396Closed Session - September 3, 1996 At 5:15 p.m. the Board went into closed session to discuss the location or expansion of industry, pursuant to NCGS 143-318.11(a)(4). Commissioners Kemp, Frye, Comer, Davis and Holmes were present. Also present were Frank Willis, County Manager; Alan Pugh, County Attorney; Alice Dawson, Clerk to the Board; David Townsend, III, Public Works Director; Walter Sprouse and Bonnie Renfro, Randolph County Economic Development Corporation. On motion of Holmes, seconded by Davis, at 6:00 p.m. the Board unanimously voted to recess the closed session and return to open session until all agenda items were completed. At 8:15 p.m. closed session reconvened. Walter Sprouse and Bonnie Renfro were not present. Chairman Kemp told the Board about a meeting that he, the County Manager, and the Public Works Director had attended with representatives from the City of Asheboro concerning additional costs and opportunities associated with Asheboro's recommendation to substitute a gravity sewer system for the originally proposed force main sewer line system in the Klaussner Furniture Industries Economic Development Project proposed to be built South of Asheboro. The Board discussed this proposal. On motion of Holmes, seconded by Davis, the Board unanimously voted to return to regular session at 9:05 p.m.
