S121395special Meeting - December 13, 1995
The Randolph County Board of Commissioners met in special session at 5:30
p.m. on December 13, 1995 to award bids for renovations to the new social
Services Building. Commissioners Kemp, Frye, Holmes and Davis were present.
Commissioner Comer was absent.
Larry Austin, architect for this project, presented a bid tabulation of
multi -prime bids, as follows:

Mr. Austin stated that he, County Manager Frank Willis, and social services
Director Martha sheriff reviewed bids and looked at ways to reduce the total
cost. Low bidders were asked to present a list of deduct items and a revised
bid amount, which they did:

Superior Mechanical - HVAC Contractor 131,900 (No Change)

TOTAL REVISED CONTRACTS AMOUNT: $1,043,209
Mr. Willis stated that $904,001 has been budgeted for this project. The
revised contract amount ($1,043,209) with a 6% contingency ($62,592) leaves a
shortfall of $201,800.
on motion of Frye, seconded by Holmes, the Board unanimously awarded a
contract to the low bidder in each category of the multi -prime bids, as follows:

superior Mechanical - HVAC Contractor 131,900
Commercial Electric - Electrical Contractor 269,486
and approved Budget Amendment #24 (ATTACHED), which appropriates $201,800 from
fund balance and transfers $30,000 from the Maintenance Department budget for
this project.
